Boot Camp Week 8: What’s Next

Eight weeks, seven prompts already tested, and one final Prompt Card that turns the whole summer into a toolkit you can keep using.

AI, Eh? Summer Boot Camp — 8 Week Series

Week 8. The last week of the Summer Boot Camp. Eight weeks ago you opened a blank document and typed “My AI Toolkit” at the top, same as I did. Today we look at what is actually in it.

This week breaks the pattern a little. No new prompt to run first. Today is about looking back at what you built, then closing the loop on your toolkit for good.

Step 1: Scroll back through your toolkit

Open your toolkit doc. Actually scroll through it, top to bottom, before you do anything else this week.

Prompt Card 1, prompting basics, built around planning a trip. Card 2, meal planning for a busy week. Card 3, summarizing a messy work thread. Card 4, learning a language for a trip. Card 5, building a budget, carefully. Card 6, generating your first AI image. Card 7, splitting a shared cost across a full spreadsheet. Seven real prompts, each one written and tested by you, on your own actual life. That is not nothing. That is a genuinely useful personal toolkit, and it is yours to keep using long after today.

Step 2: Build your last card, Prompt Card 8

This one is different from the rest. Instead of a new prompt, you are building a cheat sheet for future you, the two things most worth carrying forward.

Open your toolkit doc, add a heading called Prompt Card 8, and write these two things yourself.

The six basics, in your own words. Not copied from any issue, write out context, task, constraints, format, uncertainty, and privacy the way you would actually explain them to someone else.

Your favourite prompt from the summer, and why. Look back through Cards 1 through 7 and pick the one you have actually used again, or the one you are most likely to. Write one line on why it stuck.

That is Prompt Card 8, done. Eight cards, a complete personal toolkit, built entirely by you.

What’s actually on my computer

A few people have asked what I actually use day to day, not what I think you should use, just what is genuinely sitting on my computer right now. Here it is.

✍️ Writing and thinking it throughChatGPT and Claude, my two daily drivers
Copilot, when I’m inside Microsoft tools
Gemini, for a second opinion, or when I’m already in Google
🗂️ Capturing and staying organizedWispr Flow, I talk more than I type these days
Notion, everything about this newsletter lives here
NotebookLM, feed it my own notes and query them back
🎙️ Voice and presentationElevenLabs, for voiceover work
Gamma, when I need a deck built fast
🎨 DesignCanva, always, for anything visual that goes out the door

None of this is the “right” toolkit, it is just mine, built up over time the same way yours has been these last eight weeks.

What’s next

The boot camp wraps up here, but AI, Eh? does not, this newsletter keeps landing in your inbox every week, same as always. Boot camp was a special eight week run inside it, not the whole show.

Keep your toolkit doc close. Add to it whenever a new prompt earns its place. And keep doing the one thing this whole summer was really about, run it, fix it, save it. That habit is the actual skill, not any single prompt.

AI assisted. Human led.

Whatever AI produces for you, always read it, verify it, and make it sound like you. AI is an incredible first draft machine. Your judgment, your voice, and your values are always the final layer.

Hit reply and tell me your favourite Prompt Card from the whole summer. I read every single one, and I am genuinely curious which one stuck.

Know someone who would get real value out of these eight weeks? Send them the full series. It is waiting on the website whenever they are ready to start.

The Boot Camp is complete

All eight weeks are now available. Start at Week 1, revisit a lesson, or keep building on the toolkit you made this summer.
